Edna Mae Bourgeois (Gatte)

Edna Bourgeois was born in Acadia Parish Louisiana on Monday September 9th 1935, to her parents Wilfred and Sadie Gatte (deceased).  Her husband Jacob passed July 1st 2021. She had two brothers, Fredrick (deceased) and Terrin Gatte. Eight children, Timothy (deceased), Mark (deceased), David, Daniel, Matthew, Vincent, Rita (deceased), and Elizabeth. She dedicated her entire life to family and friends. As a fulltime home maker, she was the heart and soul of the Bourgeois family. Active member of St Hyacinth Catholic church for decades, served in many different organizations. She went peacefully to our Lord and Savior in the morning hours of February 28th, 2026, with her loving family at her bedside

There will be a viewing visitation on Thursday the 5th of March from 3-4 pm for family only, 4-6 pm for friends and general public, and a recitation of the Rosary at 6 pm, at Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine St., Deer Park, Tx 77536. 

On Friday the 6th, there will be a 10 am Roman Catholic Mass at St Joseph, 1400 Old Evangeline Hwy, Evangeline, LA 70537 with interment to follow at "Gatte's Cemetery" a private family cemetery located on back of property of 1182 Ye Ole Country Rd.
